KAPE Stainless Marathon Rudders
DESCRIPTION
Unlike our Racing and Touring Rudders these rudder types are unbalanced (the shaft is connected to the frontmost part of the blade). Their blades are narrow, have lower profile and the whole rudder is made up by durable stainless steel.
Key differences: unbalanced shaft, lower profile, narrow & more durable blade
Both the placement of the shaft and the shape of the blade prevents the accumulation of seaweed. Because of these characteristics this simple rudder type is proven to be an excellent choice for both long distance paddlers and for those who usually depart from the river- or lakeside.
However the blade itself is far less fragile than Racing or Touring Rudders'(link), aggressive longitudal crashes to riverbed may still harm the boat hull. Thus we advice our Stainless Overstern Rudder "Klappsteuer" (link) for all who paddle in shallow rivers.
AVAILABLE SIZES
Stainless Marathon Rudders are available in two sizes: smaller is for single kayaks (K1s & single TOURING/FITNESS models), the bigger one is for double kayaks.
